Easily reached from many major destinations, Antigua has long been a playground for the thrill seekers as much as for those seeking relaxation and retreat. As a premier destination in the Caribbean, Antigua is a hub of international sailing activity, playing host to a number of internationally acclaimed sailing events.
For decades, the Pearns Point peninsula has served as the perfect backdrop to the Antigua Sailing Week, one of the world’s most famous yacht regattas. Now heading towards its 52nd edition, the annual event is to arrive at the Caribbean once again from April 27th to May 3rd.
In the Antigua Sailing Week 2019 participants range from fully professional crews to groups of friends and family, all of whom are guaranteed an exhilarating experience, while spectators also have the opportunity to keep close to the action by booking a yacht charter.
Sailing Week is based out of English Harbour within the backdrop of the historic 18th century Nelson’s Dockyard on the island’s south coast. It comes at the end of a season which began with Antigua Charter Yacht Show in December, a superyacht regatta in January, the Caribbean 600 race in February, and a classic yacht event earlier in April.
